Remember back on my first post, when I was whining about Great Sage‘s Lite Fare menu? Well, there was no Lite Fare this time! It was brunch in all of its spectacular glory. Seriously. We arrived at around 11 a.m. and were seated right away. The Biscuits and Spinach Gravy and the Grilled Reuben immediately appealed to me, and that’s we ordered to share. The Biscuits and Spinach Gravy came with Tofu Scramble, Tempeh Bacon, and Swiss Chard. It was all amazing, my only wish is that the biscuits would’ve been smothered in gravy rather than drizzled with it.
I was disappointed with the Reuben. Vegan Reubens I’ve had before have been stuffed with toppings, and on stellar bread. There were so few toppings on this sandwich that you could barely tell it was a Reuben. The menu said it came with coleslaw and a pickle, and the coleslaw was incredible. The pickle, however, was a gherkin, which was kind of weird. I won’t order this again.
